Civil Procedure - Discovery - The plain and ordinary meaning of sections 6(1) and 31 of the Births And Deaths Registration Act 1957 (Revised 1983) Act 299 is that save for the applications for Certificates of Birth, Death or Presumed Death, any person, which would include the applicant or his solicitor, may apply in the prescribed form upon payment of the prescribed fee to have a search made in the indices or in the register kept by the Registrar General of Births and Deaths.
