Criminal law - Both the Appellants were charged with trafficking 1,368.8 grams of methamphetamine under section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 read with section 34 of the Penal Code - at the end of the case for the defence, the Appellants failed to rebut the presumption of trafficking on a balance of probabilities and to raise a reasonable doubt to the prosecution's case and were convicted of the said offence and sentenced to life imprisonment, which is 30 years imprisonment, and also ordered to undergo 15 strokes of the whip.
