This is an appeal by the Appellant, Amir Sharif bin Muhamad, against the sentence imposed upon him in respect of the first charge, namely an offence of murder punishable under section 302 of the Penal Code. the Appellant was sentenced to thirty-two (32) years' imprisonment and twelve (12) strokes of whipping in respect of the first charge. In respect of the second charge, he was sentenced to fifteen (15) years’ imprisonment and ten (10) strokes of whipping. Both custodial sentences were ordered to run concurrently from the date of arrest. Being dissatisfied with the sentence of thirty-two (32) years' imprisonment imposed in respect of the first charge, the Appellant lodged the present appeal against sentence.
