1. It is a matter of common experience that public utility construction works often cause inconvenience to the general public, whether by way of traffic diversions, congestion, or other disruptions. Such inconveniences are frequently compounded where the works are prolonged or delayed. 2. In the present case, the Plaintiffs have instituted proceedings against the Defendants, alleging that construction activities carried out along the road adjacent to their shop lots caused undue interference with their business operations. They claim that the disruption resulting from the works led to damage to their properties, a loss of tenants and, consequently, financial losses. The Plaintiffs seek reliefs on the basis of nuisance and economic harm allegedly sustained due to the Defendants’ conduct. 3. It falls upon this Court to make a determination as to whether the Plaintiffs are entitled to reliefs sought based on the evidence before the court and on established legal principles.
